Urban Garden Structures

A Civil Engineer by trade, Johnathon Whittaker took up woodworking in 2010

Specialising in outdoor projects, Johnathon started to carve “thank you” plaques for his clients. This started to gain attention from other sources and requests for his bespoke signs started flowing in.

Towards the winter of 2015, the main company “Urban Garden Structures” of which Johnathon is the Director, started focusing on designing and creating unique hand- made signs and plaques from both hard and soft wood.

Johnathon does most of the leg work as well as the carving, adding computer design and customers relations to his portfolio to ensure every client has the final product they want and that will last for years to come.

Every one of his signs is unique, meticulously carved using a variety of tools like routers, knives and chisels.

Johnathon works closely with his clients to ensure the design is perfect and that the wood selection is suitable for its intended purpose, this way signs can be tailored for indoors and out.

Urban Garden Structures now offers a wide range of signs and wall art, anything ranging from home and garden signs to Celtic art works and animal carvings.

Johnathon has recently started catering for those with wedding bells in mind, offering bespoke name and date plaques and engraving timber slices for table top centrepieces.

You can frequently find Johnathon exhibiting at a Miss Ivy Event, carving away.
