Kirstie O’Leary is a local basket maker.  She has been making baskets for many years, initially as a hobby and then in 2020 she dived in deeper to expand her skills, being guided by some very inspiring teachers, she now makes baskets regularly  and teaches basket making from her home in Devon.

She is inspired by the shapes and colours in nature, one of her favourite places for inspiration is Dartmoor.

Most of the willow used in her craft is from a local family run business in Somerset along with an independent grower in Scotland.

Kirstie continues to be inspired by the fact that from a bundle of sticks such practical, beautiful items can be made.
