At Sam Brown Brixham and Flax & Fleece, we produce leather goods and home interiors that incorporate the best of contemporary British design in the hands of our leather workers at our Devon workshop using techniques that have been refined by years of practice. Twelve years ago we took the view to source hides from farming systems producing wool and leather, as locally reared as possible. Our veg tan leather is tanned in one of the UK’s last remaining tanneries using processes that have been passed down through the generations then turned into stunning leather goods.

Flax & Fleece Home Collection was a natural progression as we already sourced British tweed for our bag linings and our visits to the tanneries meant we could source unique hides and sheepskin fleece. With these beautiful fabrics and materials at our disposal it meant we could hand finish the tweeds into sofa throws, and fleece into bedspreads and Beanie-Pods. We are known for making to order to keep down waste.  For us the use of natural fibres means that even when your leather belt or throw has given you many years of use it will finally bio-degrade.
